design wall monday - more hexagon flowers

I'm getting quite a pile of these little guys - and I am very much considering appliquing them onto a solid backing in a random fashion instead of sewing them together like I've had them in pics.  Still deciding.  I think I'd need about 300 flowers for a full size quilt - maybe only 150 if I used a background fabric..... hmmm.......

  1. Karin, I love the color combos you've got going here! The greens in particular are fun -- what line is that, do you remember? I love hexies -- they're so happy! Have a great week! :)

  2. I would definitely consider that, Karin. I want to make some hexagon flowers too and have been thinking about appliqueing onto a background fabric!

  3. Either way you go you are into a really big project! Did you do the hexagons on accuquilt? I've been seeing a lot of them lately. Yours are going together very nicely!

  4. So beautiful! I haven't yet tried a hexie project, but I always find them so pretty to look at. Best of luck with yours. Hope you've made lots of progress this week! :o)

  5. Loving all your hexies. Thinking of starting to try them since I have two vacations coming up where there will be no electricity. Any tips?
