Today, I worked on my siggy blocks for the siggy block swap on Flickr. I got 64 blocks done, they are yet unsigned though (still going to practice, and maybe find a different pen to write with).
Does anybody have any suggestions for pen/technique for the signature? I have Micron Pigma pens size 005, but I can't seem to get a nice solid signature with them. I tried a fine sharpie, and it was a little better, but not by much. I think I need to stabilize the fabric somehow......maybe iron on some freezer paper? Or painters tape on the back? Something that can be easily removed probably.....
I use a sandpaper board to stabilize while I write. Very fine sandpaper will hold the fabric well.
ReplyDeleteLove the Pez! I work on mine some last night - I got about 12 done total, but most cut out. I'll look forward to hearing about signature techniques! I'm going to try the sandpaper suggestion.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with using fine sand paper. It does work to hold the fabric. I've used it several times when I have written a label for the back of my quilts.
ReplyDeleteI like a bigger line, as in .5 and sorry this is so after the fact. I love your blog! Barbie, originally from WA and now in NC
