23 layers of fugly

I have another dozen blocks done of the 'scrappy trips' quilt top........

I know my hubby is just shaking his head inside watching me make these UGLY blocks! LOL.  I now have 23 of these hideous things made and I sure hope the overall effect will be worth it when I'm done because they make my stomach turn, hehe :)

Mom's Electric Rainbow quilt

I was at mom's the other day and she had her Electric Rainbow quilt on her bed.  I had to take a quick pic (sorry, cell phone pic!)

She made this with a FQB of ombre dyed fabrics I dyed for her for Christmas one year.

It is made with all HST's and each row is staggered so the seam is in the center of the one above/below it.  I do believe it was a pattern in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.  She chose a rainbow/black batik for border and backing.  Pretty cool quilt I think!

Urban 9-patch quilt top

I was just going through my latest blog posts and I don't see where I shared this quilt top finish!  I can't believe it because I know I shared it on Flickr and on Facebook......

Anyhow, if I have shared it, please forgive my (strawberry)blonde moment!

I have already laid out the quilting for it.........  I just need to wait for my mom to finish with some remodeling she is doing so I can baste it at her house (I don't have a big enough floor space to do it!).  Oh, and I need to figure out a backing.  Thinking I'll go with white backing and binding.......  Maybe the same white as the background of the blocks (it has white print polka dots).

I have done very little sewing lately, but I have a new Moda Bake Shop project I will be starting on soon!  A design was just approved, so I will be patiently waiting for the fabric to arrive to get started :)
