New years resolution

I never do a 'New Years resolution'.  But, this year I am going to..  My resolution is to get as many of my 'flimsies' made into quilts as possible.  I'm not going to put down a specific goal, just 'as many as possible'.  Here are some of my flimsies that need to be quilted.  Some are new-ish, some have languished for years!

'Bliss' giant carpenters star:

Selvedge spider web:

Fig Tree (Dandelion Girl??) layer cake quilt:

This is my oldest UFO - I'm thinking around 1996-ish?

Sherbet Pips hexagon quilt:

Redwork Renaissance Urban 9-patch:

Dream On - from a quilt-along at Happy Quilting

Ghastlies/Halloween hexaxon/spiderweb quilt:

Bottled Rainbow quilt-along.  This one is actually partly quilted (in the sashing only so far)

'Twister' baby-sized quilt top.  Fabric is ''Half Moon''.

'Sunnyside' charm qult - this one is my biggest yet (96''x96'' - 2304 pieces!).  Waiting to be able to do this one on a longarm.

Hello Betty double wedding ring:

Violets 'stack-n-whack' :

and my scrappy trip around the world top:

EEK, that makes at *least* 14 unquilted tops!  And there might be more I've forgotten about!  I see a lot of quilting in my future..........

waiting for inspiration

While I wait for inspiration for quilting on a quilt I pin-basted yesterday, what do I do until inspiration strikes?  Start another quilt of course!

I will be working with 2 of these lovely Seascapes jelly rolls.  Love love love the color palette on these.  Not really a fan of the 'sea' theme, but the colors win me over!  I am leaving out the prints that have writing on them and substituting strips cut from yardage (that is in the mail still).  This quilt is going to be for ME.  I don't keep many quilts, but this one will be on MY bed as soon as it's done!  I have been hoarding saving these for just the right project, and I finally found just the right one!

I can't show you what pattern I'm using - since it's the same pattern as the Moda Bake Shop quilt I'm working on (that I'm trying to decide how to quilt).  I'll give you a sneak peek, but that's all you get ::grins::
(This quilt is made from the collection ''Wishes'' and I love these prints/colors too!)

My son is a UI graduate!

I am a very proud mom.  My oldest son graduated from the University of Idaho this weekend!

Here is all of us at the CNR (College of Natural Resources) building at the brunch before graduation.  From left to right is Connor (youngest son), Jacob (graduate), me, and hubby Brian.  I didn't realize how short I look next to all those tall men!  Connor and Brian are 6' and Jacob is at least 6'3'' (maybe 6'4'').  I am 5'5 1/2''.  Not quite 5'6'' :)
Jacob bought this 'Forester' shirt at the SAF (Society of American Foresters) convention in Charleston, SC this year - and saved it for this day!  He can now say he IS a Forester.  His degree is in Forest Resources with a minor in Forest Operations.

yumminess in the mail

I got this yummy bunch of fabrics in the mail a couple weeks ago.  I have already tore into them and have started a new quilt project (to hopefully be done by Christmas maybe?)
