Well, yesterday turned out to be a nightmare day at the dog park. I won't go into detail, but she was attacked by a dog that the owner KNEW had been previously aggressive to other dogs. After the attack, he said ''he's done this before''.
If you KNOW your dog is agressive to other dogs, it does NOT BELONG at a dog park. Period!
Now my dear sweet puppy has to pay the conciquences of that dog owners ignorance!
Sleeping off the sedatives after surgery:
This morning:
Stitches in both lids and a drain in her cheek. Makes me sick to my stomach to see her like this :*(
We will have lots of indoor time the next couple weeks. So, maybe I'll get some quilting done between pampering my little sweetie.

So, so sorry! That other dog should NOT be at the dog park, ever. I hope she heals soon. :)
ReplyDeleteOmg! I'm sick. This hits close to home as I've been taking my 4 mo old, very friendly schnauzer to puppy class and frankly I can not imagine something like this happening. What a duufus...the owner of the other dog..I think I'd give him the vet bills...if you ever see him again. O man. That is just pitiful. I hope there are no lasting effects with your sweet little guy.
ReplyDeleteSo sad! Hope your furry sweetie heals soon.
ReplyDeleteOMG - how awful and sad to see your injured pup!! All good healing thoughts coming her way.
ReplyDeleteI hope the owner of the other dog is paying the vet bills!!!!!!
Oh, poor baby! I'm so sorry to hear this. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a dog park. Yes, I do live under a rock. :) Sending speedy healing thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your dog all the best. I don't own a dog but was at a dog park last weekend with a friend & her dog. I was amazed at how the dogs made friends. Not one bit concerned about breed, colour etc. The owner of this dog should be reported and banned from the park. Hoping that your dog will still enjoy the park after recovery.
ReplyDeleteThis is too awful! Many trainers will tell you dog parks are not necessarily a good thing. Smaller group, play dates work best. I've had the same experience as you and the owner of the other dog said the same thing but at least he, but with anger, paid the bills. I hope she recovers and still is unafraid. Another dog I had was attacked as a young dog, 6 months old, at a field trial. After that she became the dog aggressive one, where previously she greeted every other dog with joy. I'm so, so sorry for your baby. Take Care.
ReplyDeleteOh, precious sweet Lucy. I'm sending get well hugs to her. I'm so sorry this happened. It is very hard to understand how anybody could be so irresponsible with their dog.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awful.I hope she feels better and heals fast. I am going to tell my daughter about this as she takes her dog to a dog park where there is a man that brings an agressive dog . So far he hasn't injured another dog but the biggest problem is the owner doesn't think his dog is aggressive. When he shows up everyone pretty much takes their dogs and leaves which I think should be a clue. You are so righ that kind of dog doesn't belong in a dog park.
ReplyDeleteThat is awful. I would be so made at the owner of the other dog. Is there a someone who monitors the park or takes care it that you could red flag concerning the aggressive dog?
