Wine ice cream

I heard about wine ice cream a few months ago and set out to figure out how to make it on my own.  I am happy to say, I have developed a recipe that is super easy (no ice fream freezer required!) and delicious!

1 cup moscato wine
2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar

Put ingredients in a blender and blend until it starts to thicken.....round 2-3 minutes.  Pour into freezer container and freeze.  Easy peasy!

Now, this isn't as smooth as a regular ice cream, its a little crystalline because of the wine, but the flavor is fabulous, especially with the addition of some fresh fruit.

I tested it with half and half, and it still works OK, but it feeezes harder and more crystalline.   Heavy cream is good too, but tends to leave a fat residue feeling in your mouth.  Whipping cream is just right and it doesn't freeze too hard.
